This spring, my wife said I needed my hearing checked, that she thought I'd gone from hard of listening to hard of hearing. She said I turn up the tv too loud and don't hear her talking to me. Of course, she bangs around in the kitchen, talks to me facing the other direction or talks to my son who learned to whisper in a saw mill.

I got an appointment with an audiologist and it was a great experience. At the end, she said, "I have good news and bad news and it is really the same news."

Well, she had my attention. She said, "Your hearing is fine."

Now what do I tell my wife?!

Tell her you have ADD, any noise or another voice "cancels out her voice"
