Why don't elevators look at the weather forecast instead of the calendar when setting dumping hours? Yesterday was a beautiful day for harvest and we have huge rains forecast for Monday and Tuesday. The elevator was open from 10 to 5 but will be open 7 to 7 on the rainy days this week.

Even with overtime pay it seems more productive to have the elevator busy on a good harvest Sunday and shortened hours on rainy days when no one is able to get in the fields.

Wow! Looks like they did you a favor to even be open on Sunday, and yet you complain. You have probably never worked a day of your life off the farm. Once you do, it will change your perspective on how you operate your farm. Often whatever you gain on a Sunday is lost another time during the week. throw that in with tired employees being overworked and expensive mistakes are more likely to happen.

There are reasons why people build grain bins and performing your harvest operation when you want to is probably the number 1 or 2 reasons why guys build bins.
