I'm not defending the elevator but the workers there have family lives also. My wife always tell me this world doesn't revolve around farmers only when I complain about something that doesn't go my way with the general public.

I've been on both sides of this so that gives me the right the grumble too.

You are right they do have families, but this is also their "go time". Should snow plow truck drivers only work 8 hours a day, five days a week too?

If the weather is good they should be open then if during the week it is bad they can go home at 3 or something if they don't want the hours.

The faster they get all of us done the faster their lives and ours can return back to normal.

Elevators have to be open when when the grain markets are, closing the doors and leaving early isn’t an option. Besides, for an hourly employee that’s a kick in the groin, hey lets take away your weekend overtime pay by having you NOT work M-F 8-5. Think about it.
