Subject: RE: Red clover question

Chaffee, Western New York
I don't know.

We bought some ground that has 30acres of "hill ground". Clay over shale. In a weak clover, grass mix. 100 tons of lime and a bunch of tile, ditch around the outside and it is starting to look a little better. We mowed off the stand with a flail to try and get a little more organic matter. It's now over knee high clover.

Probably going to take more tile, lime and TLC to get it where we can consider doing more than making a few hay bales, or giving up and building an irrigation pond on.
