Todd, we're in different locales for sure, but the reason we stopped using CG beacon was because of spring-summertime thunderstorm interference. Our closest beacon station was approximately 126 mis away. Any storm moving in between me & that xmitter seemed to provide certain blockage/loss of the CG beacon. Now-that meant that I could be operating in blue-sky sunshine, while there was a storm 50 mis W of me moving perpendicular to me. I wasn't in rain & wasn't going to be in rain...but beacon was lost anyway. I can't recall any atmospheric blockage of the WAAS signal. But again-I realize we're in different places totally. Just sharing my experience. |
