Iowa | Concave is set from the factory to have up to a 1/2” wedge built into them. Set concave setting on outside with ratchet to 8 setting. Then set the front of the concave at one mark below mid, toward max, then measure from front of concave up to cylinder bar, should be close to 1”. Then lower back of concave with turnbuckles down to 1”between cylinder bar and rear of concave. Then run at 6-8 on concave setting. As long as you can maintain threshing you can open concave up. Speed is also an influence on splits, need to be at 450-550. Green stems will be the determining factor here on how much HP it takes to keep things moving, but with reverse bars moved, that should help. We also like to see every other discharge bar removed and a cylinder bar put back in its place, will have to shorten cylinder bar to do this. Also, the four remaining paddles need to be shortened to the width of discharge and a short piece of cylinder bar(removed from four bars added in place of paddles) added and welded to shortened discharge bar.
My 2cents,
