I would simply plant the cheapest corn you can for the first 24 rows or so. Fertilize accordingly for half a crop on those 24 rows, as that's all you're gonna get anyway. A good share of what we farm is adjacent to timber, with a very high number of deer. We put out a lot of food plots as decoys though, and it helps take the pressure off the field corn quite abit.
