The Garmin GPS receiver is likely the reason you're having issues. The Garmin receiver is supposed to output a NMEA0183 GPS message at a 1hz frequency. It sends the GPS message to the AGCO C2000 or C2100 display. The C2X00 display then repeats the message back out to the CAN bus in NMEA2000 format. Unfortunately, this outputs the message at 1/2 hz (meaning one message, every two seconds), it doesn’t seem to contain a heading message, and it’s WAAS accuracy.

We’ve had a handful of growers replace the Garmin receiver with the following combinations:

1. Trimble CFX-750 display and AG162 receiver
2. Trimble AgGPS EZ-Guide 500 System

In both situations, the person who set this up, disconnected the Garmin receiver from the C2X00 display. Then used the output NMEA0813 function on the Trimble display, to output a NMEA0183 message to the C2X00 display. They have to create an adapter harness to interconnect the C2X00 display and the Trimble display. I know that Linco-Precision LLC, in El Paso, IL has done a great job with these retrofit solutions.
