Go with the dry rate controller from the get go, you won’t be disappointed.

You will not need any activations to run the rate controller. The 2630 will do prescriptions and let you control the DRC manually. If you want it to shut itself off, you will need to use a display with section control. I have set up several Montag carts on strip till bars with GS DRC in the past and they work very well.

I usually quote $2500 for the controller kit and harnessing. Depending upon what you have it can get up to around $3000. I would price check the front extension harness (ISO harness) and constant power harness (foot switch harness) through both Deere and Ag Express, and you will more than likely need to buy your flow control harness (hooks the bare valves and encoders up to the dry controller) through Ag Express.
