| I've been using my Deere 3000 RTK receiver with Raven Smartrax for about one year. I have gone back and forth using either Deere's TCM or Raven's 3D tilt compensation. I'm not convinced that one or the other is better, but I have a question about the setup when using the Deere TCM. Before using it in the Raven application, I first use a Deere display to turn on correct messages, as well as turning the TCM on or off. Do I need to set up antenna height while hooked up to the Deere display, when I use Deere TCM for tilt correction, before I use it with Smartrax? It seems like it would need to know how high up from the ground it is to send the correct information. In this scenario, the Smartrax 3D is turned off, so it won't do any correcting.
When I use Smartrax 3D and turn off Deere TCM, I'm assuming that antenna height info in the Deere receiver won't matter, as it isn't correcting for tilt. The Smartrax has antenna height programmed, so it has the info needed. | |
