Sw mn
One of the reasons that they are tall from what I heard is for safety ratings. They need to make the back window higher above the seat for when side impact or for role overs. So when the door went higher and the window shorter the box had to get higher. Well with a higher box it didn't look proportional so bigger tires and wheels wells to get the look right. But now the bed rail is six inches higher due to safety ratings. Then ford come out and said " we have the largest box and can haul the most since they raised the box hight to bed floor measure ment. Then the rest following suit.

I have a 05 dodge one ton crew cab long box. It is 25-26' long but it does what I need and if you think it is to big and I have to park out in the back forty at the store. My question to you is why buy a pickup with a short box my Jeep farm car can haul as much as a short box pickup. Well then go buy one of them little pickups like a s10 Dakota or Colorado.
