Extreme southeast Nebraska | I've had a Chicago Electric Plasma Cutter model #95136 for 11 years. When I first got it I figured it was a luxury purchase since I had a decent acetylene torch. It didn't take long before the acetylene torch reverted to a coat rack. My now essential Plasma cutter quit abruptly this week part way through a job. Everything sounds fine, digital display varies with amperage setting, air flows at proper volume and all tip parts are new. I opened it up and can't see any loose or broken wires. It just won't fire. I'm wondering if a diode or resistor has gone bad.
Anyone have this happen and if so what was your solution to fix it? Are there any good repair shops that work on and repair generic plasma cutters for a reasonable fee? |
