Subject: D.O.T. Fuel inspection for colored fuel .

Interstate 35 North ia
Got pulled around to the back of the scale today and thought that was strange as my weight was good and I just went thru a level 1 inspection about 2 weeks ago in Ohio and passed , anyway before I had the truck stopped a guy was headed my way and informed me he was just going to dip my fuel tanks . A first for me , asked him if he had ever caught anyone with colored fuel and he said not yet . I recall a local farmer from my home town got caught with red fuel in his pickup at an auction about 8 years ago and heard the fine was quite substationual ,( don't know if it got reduced ) . Anyone ever heard of someone getting caught with colored fuel ? And how bad was the ding ?
