S.E. Iowa | Today my son was working on his basement getting ready to pour cement when he got a phone call from a friend. The friend was hauling bales and hit a over pass on 34. The height of it is 13' 10". Very lucky no one got hurt. The son loads the skid loader up and heads to Galesburg 30 miles away to clean the mess up. Galesburg Police department was the first on scene and helped in manually clearing the road to get motorists by. Son arrives there a lady and man are very nice and friendly. Now the State police are there sitting in their car running the cash register. Sons friend got 6 tickets and I don't know what they even were for. Yes he was wrong but the state guy was a lot more interested in the cash than safety. My son said they need to dissolve the state police and just let the counties and cities do it, forget Chicago. | |
