WC MN | Corn yields should never increase on a prediction. The highest possible yield is when the seed drops from the planter into the trench. If the yield is truly this high, then it had that same potential this whole time. The corn plant decides its yield potential very early in its life cycle and then either lives up to it or does not. Corn NEVER adds yield, it only lives up to a certain amount of the original potential. I wonder if the USDA had said 165 if everybody would still be slowly raising their yields since the reports came out? | |
