Subject: AgTalk Lurker passes on

Kingston,Mi
A friend for 3 decades, co-worker for most of that time, cattle feeder on a small scale, National No-till Conference attending all around great guy died from cancer this past Saturday. Jim Kratz farmed or was employed/assisted by Pat-Michigan and Lago's Farms besides quietly helping many farmers kick the tillage habit as the Tuscola County Conservation District drill manager for many years before becoming a water shed tech then the district administrator. His obituary is in the 9/20/2017 Tuscola Advertiser (which he also worked for while in High school). Survived by his wife, 2 children and their spouse's , several brothers, sisters and inlaws. He was alurker at this site for many years but never signed on to add humorous insight to problems great and small. He once mentioned that his first farming job after he quit West Point paired him with a mechanical genius, W. Jon was a 1 and he was a 0 so that made them a 10 didn't it? He liked hunting and fishing and was always hoping to be done with beets, beans and corn before the opening day of deer season. His funeral is tomorrow in Caro, prayers from friends helped him I am sure in his final days.
