Subject: RE: Silage bag question

We have a 9' Ag Bagger. I use 2 8' 2x4 (or smaller depending whats around). It doesn't take much bag length.

We bring the end of the tube together in a flat line, hold the middle, then bring each end into the middle. When we bring each end in, we bring the inside in, so the black part touches. When both ends are brought to the middle, the length of the flat part is now 6-7'. We put a 2x4 on top, tuck the plastic along the edge of the board and then roll the board 2-3 times.

We then take the other board on top and either screw or nail it to the board wrapped in the plastic. We normally use a few pieces of string and tie the ends of the boards to the middle of the backstop. We've never had problems and the board drops a little when the back stop comes off-but normally stays above ground.

It's difficult to explain, but we've done it this way since we started bagging in the 90's
