Subject: RE: Fertility treatments & health insurance

Ohio Mandates HMOs (but not other types of insurers) to cover infertility treatment as a "preventative" benefit. The treatment must be "medically necessary," and the Ohio Department of Insurance has ruled that GIFT, ZIFT and IVF are not medically necessary.

Ivf mandated States such as Illinois and Massachusetts require insurance companies to cover ivf treatments.... unluckily we are in Ohio.

GH, Thanks for the clinic referral we will look into them.

Emtdb, want to do a farm swap for a year? Seems like a lot complain about Illinois government but there's good dirt and fertility insurance! The 100k---was it successful I hope?

Ihfarmermn did you have to physically go to Mexico or ordered the drugs shipped? Were you working with a hospital doc or clinic?

Ben sorry to hear...it's emotionally tolling too. Hear you on being able to say tried everything. Trying to get results while still somewhat young, as endo already cuts down fertility massively.

Thank you all for the input.
