Subject: Hydraulic velocity fuse question

I'm working with a salford 4100 series tillage tool, it is equipped with NH3 shanks that are controlled with hydaulic down pressure. The system requires 3-4 gallons per minute hydraulic flow at 750-1000 psi to maintain down pressure on the shanks. My problem is that when a hose blows I pump all the oil out from the tractor rather quickly. Is a velocity fuse set at 5gpm going to stop the hydraulic flow? It is hooked to a challenger 765C with the hydraulic remote set at 15% flow. Another way of asking the question is will the flow rate stay the same or increase from the tractor if the back pressure goes from 800 psi to open flow?

Thanks
