DJI CrystalSky works in full sun while wearing a white shirt! No hood required. Since it has internal fans and a superior display technology that creates very little heat anyways, temps are not an issue.. External large battery that is swappable allows a longer run time than any phone or tablet I'm aware of. The tablet isn't exactly cheap, but it's not out of line for what you get either.

Last winter, I picked up a $20 Member's Mark 16" case, at Sam's Club. The tablet and controller folds and fits the case with no disassembly required so it's a quick and simple matter to go from transit to flying.

Two extra batteries for the drone and one extra for the display fit nicely in the case also.

Unfold the drone and power things up and you're ready to fly.
