| I'm nearsighted and worn glasses since age 11, when it came down to not being able to read from the school blackboard even when sitting in first row. When I reached age 43 I found I kept having to take off my glasses to read fine print up close. Dr said I was at the right age for bifocals.
Edges are distorted, but I am long used to that. First time I tried them on, I was annoyed to see the floor blurry. You gradually learn to tilt to your head so you are looking through the correct part of the lens appropriate for the distance.
One thing that's difficult to do with them on is electrical or other work on ceilings... can't tilt my head back far enough to look thru bottom of lens and still look up.
Very fine print work, anything less then 8" from my eyes I still take them off... my glasses make everything look 20% smaller. | |
