here is an example of a CC mix that we just planted last week.

species*********seeds/lb**lbs/acre** plants per ft2
sunflower********7000******4*********0.64
cowpea*********4000*****10*********0.92
T-raptor rape***170000******1*********3.90
radish*********25000******1********* 0.57
chia**********360000***** 0.2********1.65
sesbania*******48000***** 2**********2.20
soybean********2500*****20**********1.15

total lbs/a = 38.2
total seeds/ft2 = 9.9

This CC mix followed an oat/pea mix cut for grain about a month ago so there will also be some volunteer oats and peas but the total # of seedlings per square foot will be much less than 40.

I am expecting everything to winterkill but the rape may overwinter if we have a mild winter.

The following crop will be corn.
