Subject: RE: brushes on corn head gathering chains

Nebraska
We had them last half of the season last year they saved alot of corn we ran them in a few rows first day and then put all of them in the next. Certain hybrids were really bad for us last year. We are going through head today, we had1500 ac on them last year and they don't show much wear so take that for what's it's worth. We are putting our old chains on for early corn since we have a dryer and plan on putting them on if we start having trouble again. The only bad we have to say is if it gets tuff or wet they bring in alot of trash but when dry they are neat. On one of our bad fields last year we had a 6 bu. Gain. That is when we called and said bring the rest of the chains out ASAP. Once we get back under 18% corn we will be putting them back on. If u buy them they do take a few ac to break in they said 40ac for a 12 row so don't give up on first round or 2. We run a jd612c with adjustable deck plates, fwiw
