I put heifer on few pounds grain a day with other calves for 45 to 60 days, keep a eye on them. Ship other calves and leave replacements where they are and feed them few pounds grain/ddgs within hay until AI time. AI or bull breed earlier then cows and send them to pasture in their spring. They get no special treatment after the get bred first time.
