HERE I have been running fall calving cows the past several years. Calve in Sept/Oct and wean in May. Older broken mouth cows. We had a mild winter last year BUT we averaged over 600# calves sold in May. Fed 4 round bales total all winter on 43 pair. 200 acres grazed. Usually will more likely need hay in late summer months before corn is out and covers are ready.
