N FLA | There is a sweet spot in the market buying cattle in October and selling in April. But you have a real feed slump to work with is my guess.
I started with 13 old cows on cover crops, 2 died. But I feel like I know what I'm doing now. You just have to go for it. That first year I bought in October and sold in January after another cow herd got on my cover crop and ate it all. I did ok still. That's the good thing is you can sell your cows anytime if something happens. Try selling a soybean crop 2 months early. LOL | |
