Stress is a much bigger factor in scc than cleanliness IMO.


Agree with this.

Those cows lounging around in that shady creek bank will have a easier time than if they were in a crowded unventilated barn with dry stalls.

Another correlation that i've observed. Chronically high scc cows are often the ugliest, chronically lame, broken-down cows in the herd. If you have a chance to get rid of all the "embarrassing" cows, you'll do wonders for your scc.

Trouble is, every suggestion on this thread is not a quick fix. High scc seldom is a quickie.
