It was a long time ago when I was 17, but I had very responsible parents. I can assure you there is little correlation between kids speed desires & proper parenting, unless you just ride with them all the time. My "driver" was the farm pickup for many years. Even those were drag-raceable on blacktop roads....against other kid's farm pickups.
