Beans don't necessarily die, but if they keep mud on them it shields them from the sun and they won't know it's time to shut it down for the season. So you'll be waiting on a freeze.

Or a rain knocks the mud off and when you combine it looks like your machine is on fire. And then when you dump into the graincart you occasionally have to stop because you can't see anything. It's like a bean dust eclipse.

You'll need wind. And then watch your bearings because what looks like a fire can easily turn into an actual fire.

Rivers and creeks are up and down late in season somewhat regularly here. But yea if water stands too long they'll just die out. Maybe later than this would actually be better, kind of like flooding corn now.
