I am pretty sure they have that down there and if I try it and don't have a bad reaction to it, I will get it down there. I already get a years supply of Colchicine. Last I checked it was going to cost me $7 a pill here, and in Mexico it is $2.99 for a box of 30. I even took the box to my new doctor and she said it was fine.

My pain reliever, gabapentin, was actually higher in Mexico.
Now that I'm on Medicare some of the drugs that were covered by insurance are suddenly no longer covered. I have started using Good Rx.com to find the cheapest pharmacy. Unbelievable how it can vary.

I have not gotten any prescriptions outside the va for years. Recently needed a one time script for 2 anxiety pills. $15.99 at local pharmacy. I used goodrx and got them for $3.26 at shopko. Cheaper than my va copay.

More hassle to get va to fill script from non va doctor.
