You didn't say where you are. Location makes a difference.
Just put silo stop film, plastic and cover with side walls and have no mold.
Anything is better than nothing. One year when I was back on the farm we didn't cover a small drive over pile. It probably had about 8"of bad feed on top. Kinda makes you sick looking at that pile of molded feed and knowing you paid for it.
