Subject: RE: covering corn silage pit

southwest minnesota
straw works excellent. We have just blown straw over the top of ours the last 4-5 years and had great results. The last 2 years have been extremely wet and we have had less than 2" of spoilage on top and the spoilage is the straw not the silage. When it comes to our high moisture corn pile we cover that with a tarp but the silage just gets straw blown on top.
