I just rented a car a couple weeks ago. I was comfortable with the terms of the credit card companies' agreement, so declined the CDW. Basically, it looked to me like as long as I was renting a low value vehicle and didn't damage it while committing some sort of felony, coverage was good. I forget exactly what the cost was, but it was close to $15 per day.
