Subject: Cereal rye seeding rate & termination

Rushville,IL
Drilled some cereal rye last year at about one bushel an acre into standing corn stalks mid October. Planted beans May 8 into the rye and killed the next day with 2 quarts of generic round-up. First I don't think I really needed that much round-up. What would you recommend. Second I thought may I don't need to seed the rye that heavy. Some have told me 30-40 lbs. What did you think.
