I was able to borrow a felt lined boot a few sizes larger and remove the felt lined when I broke my ankle years ago. I just cut the toe off a few pairs of an old sock to keep my toes warm.
Note: be careful walking too much in a cast. To this day I walk with my left toes pointed out because I walked too much in my cast. Back problems and leg problems years later too.
