Iowa | Live in Nw Iowa. Used to pick elderberries for mom when I was a kid. We have 2 bushes of them at my place. They are black elderberries. What are the do's and for using these - sounds like plant material and un ripe berries are poisonous, wife would like to make syrup or jam but we have no hands on experience doing it and mom doesn't remember. What is the process and are they really dangerous? Hadn't heard that they were dangerous till I googled it last year, so we chickened out. Better safe than sorry. | |
