Something like this is probably a baseline of what you should look at. Intel i5 or i7 and 8+GB of ram. I like the idea of solid state drive for the OS and other programs and the a big HDD for files.
Also look at Microsoft store/website for what they call signature series. Usually good systems, multiple brands, without all the bloat ware that comes from same brands at any big box store or website.
