Yorkshire UK | It's a windy place here and by the time the Mavic wouldn't feel safe my P3 Pro wouldn't be safe to take off either. P4 does have a bit more power but similar top speed which is what enables combatting wind.
The Mavic camera is better than P3Pro but needs a bit more trial and error to get the best from it. Having used Mavic for about 8 months now, the Phantom 3 feels heavy, noisy and clumsy. Especially NOISY - it's almost twice as loud and a different tone you can hear about a mile away P3 is more sloppy than Mavic at holding steady but P4 will be better than P3 as it also has improved Visual Position sensing.
But the best thing with Mavic is compact size when folded, it will literally fit in a (big) pocket and is turned on and off in under a minute. Only the new Spark can beat that. Mavic automatic follow modes are actually quite good, P4 can do that too. The Mavic gimbal is very small and light. When you're familiar with it putting on the guard after use is easy but it's fiddly at first. Spark gimbal seems more robust but only a two axis gimbal which is sometimes noticeable in video.
