pulled and replaced by the RR, for many reasons, all defective
ties.
I know that, but it seems that I used to be able to find ones with a big split in one side and three sound sides. The ones they had today had one sound side and one side almost completely rotted.
That Nevada wholesale place listed four grades of used ties, the second best grade which they described as "premium landscape" seemed like the ones I used to get.
Heck, how much can they be new? I'd pay through the nose if I had to to get a 1/2 dozen new ones.
