Subject: Lost a friend

West of Broken Bow
As with so many pets they become family members. Never was really into small breeds until our mom got a Toy size Pomeranian. That one had to put to sleep at age 6 so eventually my sister got her another Pom puppy about a year later. Then our mom also adopted this precious white Pomeranian not long after so the other would have a companion. She was already grown and wasn't a Toy size though. They named her Lady Bug. Always full of love and ready to play. It was always a sight to see them racing eachother outside. And their play fights were hilarious. It was just sounds.

After the sister Pom had to be put to sleep several years later, LB's heart was broken. She hid behind the curtains for days in sadness. Eventually she came out of it but still would look for her buddy. Then mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Lady Bug got to be right near mom until the very end. That was April 30th when mom passed. Ever since, Lady Bug would run and search for her outside. She never gave up completely, but was obviously depressed. Then her health began to change and there was a continued loss of weight. Even today she was looking for mom. My sister had to feed her by syringe to get food down. We knew the inevitable was coming. Though it's never easy to say goodbye to a friend. The increasing discomfort was obvious and so it was only right to make the pain stop. The vet could see she was close to passing without assistance. Hope pets are allowed in Heaven. If so, she can once again play with her buddy and be with mom.
