Powdered sugar and Borax 3-1. The sugar attracts them, the borax kills them but not before they take it back to the nest for the others to enjoy.

You can also mix the borax/sugar mixture in peanut butter and stuff it short pieces of drinking straws for the ants that are more attracted to grease and oils.
