Cherokee County, Northwest Iowa | We call them taverns. Last night my wife helped neighbor serve supper to a fairly large group of family members after a funeral visitation. People from lots of places were there, and that was one of the topics in the kitchen. People would wander in and say "someone told me to ask for a tavern, while others call these things a loose meat sandwich-what gives?". |
