Much heavier gathering chains, for starters. The snouts fold up a lot nicer for servicing. One of the biggest things I like in the field is, in all our years of running our 612c, I dont ever remember a problem with dry leaves fluffing up and plugging the head on hot afternoons like the old 1293 did
