Subject: Skilled trade multi craft hourly rate

Work for a non Union, foreign auto company. We are "multi craft" maintenance men, aka jack of all trades Wondering how we stack up in pay versus other companies in the US. Don't get me wrong, we make good money, just feel we are falling further behind as far as pay and benefits. Cost of living raises are small and benefits cut all the time. Having trouble finding new help from an aging work force retiring. Most new guys that are good quit, others aren't what they advertise they are coming in. They have also added a secretarial aspect to our job that we don't like, taking away from our core job. Also implemented a 3 tier pay scale that pretty much rewards the butt kissers and can see problems arising from that. We make right at $30 an hour so is that the norm or too low or high. Also what state and industry are you in?
