N FLA
I have a squeeze at the farm I moved him to.

Do you think I can run a ratchet strap from the top, around his hock to hold the hoof up to get the block on? Or is that going to slip? Was thinking a ratchet strap around the hock and maybe another around the pastern? I couldn't tell how they were holding it up in the YouTube videos.

Lacking any hoof tools, can I get by with a sharp wood chisel and I have some sort of Stanley "cheese grater" in my tool kit. They seem like they would be adequate for leveling it off. I'm not anxious to go probing around the injured one. But it may be clearer what to do when I get a close look at it.

I need to figure out what to bring along. But, after fixing a prolapse, this seems simple.
