N.W. Ohio | Only can speak for my corner of NW Ohio. But driving 80, you didn't see the worst of it. Going south from 80 things get progressively worse thru Defiance/Henry/Paulding/Putnam/Van Wert Countes. And no, Ohio crops don't always look that bad... thank you! We just have had the unfortunate circumstance of getting one crop kicking heavy rain event after another since the last week in April. Thought maybe after the corn had been beaten down so bad maybe beans would be the stellar crop? No.... they have turned yellow and look like crap now too. Our farms have aph's of around 175-180 corn and 56-58 beans. So, we do know how to raise reasonably decent crops. But this year we are just thankful for a good crop insurance coverage. Btw, this is two of the last three seasons of this type water damage, starting to get tired of it. | |
