Great idea! I agree now is not the time for this discussion. But as we start thinking about harvest, now is a good time to review what it takes to calibrate our combines correctly.

Remember to calibrate the RANGE of the sensor and not calibrate for accuracy. If the range is done right, accuracy will take care of its self. That is the key for good yield monitor calibration.

Gary, could you expand on that? Are you talking about calibrating at different feed rates. I think a lot of people are content with full feed rate with a couple of tanks or perhaps a couple of loads but don't take the time to do other feed rates. If this is what you're referring to I'm on board. If not, please elaborate. Small strips at various feed rates are a pita w/o a weigh wagon or scales on the cart, either of which will make the calibration process more pleasurable.
