JAR - 7/14/2017 03:14 Would it work if I was able to purchase a Bluetooth to serial device it was an MFi certified? Unfortunately no. The MFi certified device is tied to the app and vice versa. Both have to be tested and approved by Apple to work together as a "system". Therefore, third parties may not be allowed to write apps for MFi certified devices without the device manufacture's written consent and subsequent approval by Apple. Also, the Bluetooth protocol is entirely different between BTLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and BT Classic (MFi certified) devices. In short it would be a decent undertaking to add support for one or the other. |
