IL | With all the waterhemp discussion, thought I'd share what I'm trying/learning. I'm not claiming to know anything, just what I see
Pic is fall c rye, beans notilled may 15 or so. Burned down with round up the day after. Rye was headed out 5' tall. When I did my post pass, there was very little twh coming through the straw . Better control than my April authority burndown ( I'll admit it was running out about bean planting time. 4wks )
(Rye was seeded 45# with a drill)
Big lesson to me from 2017.... rye holds too much moisture .... need to be on tile or fields that drain too well ( my opinion)
