He is technically correct. Windows XP is not different.

I do give the salesman kudos for ingenuity. I am guessing he is tired of people coming into the store and wasting his time by asking questions and not buying anything. When your salary is based on sales then anything goes, up to a point.

He is telling the truth especially as Apple tells him what to say.

There was a PC Mag writer that went without any protection on his PC for a while. He never got infected. Now remember this was 4-5 years ago. If you are careful you do not need any help on keeping your information safe. The problem is that very few know how to keep their computers safe and every once in a while something will bite you.
